PLN GIMNASTIK SABAH

At last we received report from our SDO in USPTN Sabah when they went for Sandakan for schedule visitation (19-21 July 2009). Few SDO from our Sabah office were granted approval to go visit training center outside Kota Kinabalu and get some feedback from the coaches, parents, athletes and association. At the same time on their own initiative they manage to organize some activities including fitness test manage by the coaches and all result were sent to ISN for further analysis.

Mini Olympic updates: Shooting final

Today few of our pelapis kebangsaan and pelapis negeri qualify to compete in 10m air rifle final and 25m sport pistol final. Our Pelapis athlete manage through the final and in the 10m Air Rifle upset is made by Pelapis Negeri from Johor who manage to overcome the pressure and won the gold. Our Pelapis Kebangsaan manage to get silver and bronze.

In the 25m sport pistol as expected the golden trio's girl announce their comeback by winning 1, 2 and 3 and at the same time qualify for Sea Games.

Our sole player Ivan Yuen who qualified to final in men single event lost to Mohamed El Shobagi ( 3-0 ) yesterday. Anyway congratulation Ivan.

MINI OLIMPIK Updates: archery

Good result from archery venue. Most of the athlete are coming either from elite, pelapis kebangsaan, pelapis serantau or pelapis negeri. Few archers are from ATM and paralimpik. From 288 archers in our program 41 were selected to participate.

All archers seem very focus to do well in this games with we already see few high score registered by the archers.

Our Pelapis Kebangsaan team for Sepak Takraw now in Kota Kinabalu participating in this tournament. With few title on their belt we hope the team can continue their winning streak there.

KFC-Laxamana Reggatta 2009

Kejohanan Reggatta KFC- Tunku Laxsamana yang berlangsung baru-baru mencatat penyertaan terbesar setakat ini. Kejohanan yang berlangsung di Bagan Pinang, Port Dickson bermula 22 hingga 26 Julai 2009.

Penyertaaan peserta luar Negara pada kejohanan kali nyata diluar dugaan. Seramai 242 peserta dari 13 buah negara menyertai kejohanan kali ini. Selain Pasukan Elit Kebagsaan dan Pasukan Pelapis dari semua negeri turut serta kecuali Kelantan .

Manakala pasukan Iran merupakan kontingen paling ramai dengan 32 peserta. Pasukan luar negara yang turut serta adalah :
Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Poland, Belgium, UAE, IRAN, India, Indonesia, Bahrin, China Taipei, Myarmar, Malaysia

Kehadiran peserta negara seperti Nik Qaedi Asraf, Khairul Nizam yang baru menjuarai Kejuaraan Laser Radial Eropah menambah saingan buat peserta luar negara.

Manakala dalam kelas Optimist jelas kehadiran peserta negara yang akan ke Brazil bagi menyertai kejohanan dunia akan di uji oleh beberapa dari negara seperti Hong Kong , Belgium dan UAE yang akan turut serta dalam kejohanan yang sama. Kehadiran Jaguh Asia seperti Faizal, Farhan , Ahmad Latif Khan dan Ahmad Shukri memang di nanti oleh pelayar optimist lain yang ingin mencabar kehebatan mereka.

Kejohanan kali merangkumi 12 Perlumbaan, antara kelas yang di pertandingkan adalah Int 470, Int 420, Laser Standred , Laser Radial, Laser 4.7 , Optimist dan Asses 2.3 (OKU).

Tamat saingan Optimist Kategori Wanita diungguli Nur Liyana Mohamad Latif dari pasukan MSN/MYA, kedua Aimi Afiqah Ahmad Basri, MSN Perak dan ketiga Nurshazrin Mohamad Latif, JYA.

Kategori Optimist Terbuka pula, Juara milik Ahmad Latif Ali Sabri Khan, MSN/MYA, Naib Juara Ahmad Syukri Abdul Aziz, MSN/MYA dan ketiga Nur Farhan Hamid juga dari MSN/MYA.

Optimist Tertutup Nessa dimenangi Muhammad Dzakiyy Yahaya, Kedua Muhamad Amirul Izham Hamdan dan Ketiga Muhammad Aqib Mohd Rafik.

Laser 4.7 juara milik Muhammad Ramlan dari Riau YC Kedua Mohd Norfhafizan Yusran, MDKL dan ketiga Faisal A. Aziz, Bahrian SC.

Laser Radial pula Juara Khairulnizam Mohd Afendy, MSN/MYA, Kedua Nur Amirah Hamid, MSN/MYA dan ketiga Nurul Elia Anuar, MSN Perak.

Manakala bagi kategori Laser 4.7 wanita, Juara Nur Dinie Rabiha Eddie Rosman, NEESA , kedua Sara Piasecka Hong Kong dan ketiga Izie Shahirah Zulkifli, PPL Perak.

Collaboration like this should be encourage and all state should expose their SUKMA team by organizing more friendly match between each other. They should not looking into overseas exposure only because it will cost them a fortune to go there but rather they should focus to forge relationship with other neighbouring state who has athletes at as good as their. We are happy to see Terengganu and Penang are doing such program to expose their young exponent to more competition. This will give their young athletes opportunity to gauge their skill and technique.

Thanks to Penang Coach Pak Johny Kasiran and En. Zainuddin Zakaria from PLN Titi Mukim, Seberang Perai Utara, Pulau Pinang the sparring between two team are a success full event.

KOI CHAMPIONSHIP IN KUCHING

The competition maybe mark as a failure since one after another blunder by the organizer who look like not organize and coordinated at all. The biggest blunder was when the organizer fumble during opening ceremony officiated by our YB Minister. When we arrived on the venue to attend the opening ceremony yesterday nobody from the organizer were around to check on the protocol and the preparation. Maybe they were so busy "missing". True enough our fear comes true and it become worst during contingent marching in. The team were not told to line up and as the result most of them were at their sitting area up at the spectator sits when the MC announce the country name. What an events it is. We cant upload the photo since the phone cable is left behind in KL with few other thing. hahaha

Anyway comes back to the real story, After showing a good start yesterday, our Malaysian Team continue to dominate by winning 5 gold 4 silver and 3 bronze. Based on the current performance for sure the medal tally will add up very fast.

Congratulation guys and to the team manager keep up the good work.

PLN TENPIN BOWLING IN PENANG

Almost every time we met our SDO we will try to persuade them to be more pro active and always try their best to visit training center under Pelapis Program as frequent as possible in order to get feedback from the coaches or athletes. Lucky some of the SDO are doing that and for sure the training program in their state will progress farther then the others.

ALL SDO please follow what Penang SDO do to monitor training center under their care. Dont just asking for transport allowance but fail to do your job.

Congratulation to USPTN Penang under the leadership of Mr. Fadhil and to Fatimah keep up pushing your self to be above the rest of SDO.

SHOOTING COACHING WORKSHOP

VENUE: INTEKMA/ Pusat Menembak Subang
ORGANIZER: Cawangan Pelapis/NSAM
PARTICIPANT: all state coaches

Based on recommendation from Razib and NSAM we agreed to organized coaching workshop for our state coaches. We strongly believe that shooting are one of the sport can give us medal in higher level such as Asian Games, Commonwealth or maybe Olympic in the future. With the right ingredients and focus we can produce world champion.

We manage to get Uwe Riesterer from International Sports Consulting in Germany to come and share his experience with our coaches. Uwe are part of the team responsible to mould the current world and Olympic medalist from India Abhinav Bindra.

Our Pelapis Negeri athlete were invited to join the camp organize by KBS/Nusa Mahsuri. All the big Gun from Nusa Mahsuri such as Misbun Sidek, Rahman Sidek, Jalani Sidek, Roslin Hashim and few others were there to guide the young athletes. good move from KBS and Nusa Mahsuri. but please do organize the camp in rural area not juts focusing in the big town.
