Hi Guys,
It was a case of so close yet so far for our young Malaysian's pursuit for a place in the Semi-Finals of the Singles Girls event today.
Determined to strive for excellence and glory for our country, Sin Li Jane was disappointed not to make the cut for the Semi-Finals.
A modest start on 182 game, Li Jane paced herself well with lines of 215, 213, 202, 248 to come within distance for a medal-shoot position. Li Jane was on track in her last game till the 9th frame when a stubborn 8 pin stood and she ended her game with 228; hence was 32 pins short for a top 4 finish. Jane emerged as the best Malaysian in 6th position with 1288 series. A disappointed Li Jane commented "I vowed to come back stronger in my next event. My first game cost me a medal for our country".
Debutant Jacqueline Sijore had a dream start with 238 game but could not held on the momentum, reeling subsequent lines of 182, 187, 180, 199 & 233 for a 1219 total to finish on 22nd place (1219) while Siti Safiyah emerged on 31st place (1204) and Fatin Syazliana ended on 37th place (1188)

not bad result- but certainly our youth programme started way before holland, latvia and korea.
ReplyDeletewhy malaysia isn't a 'dominating' force?
we spend more money than any other youth system in the world
