At least 6 medals, hopefully 8 on the last day of competition CYG 2011



Today 11th September is the final day of competition and athletes and events involved are:

Malaysia is already assured of winning 6 medals at the 4th Commonwealth Youth Games, all through badminton as our badminton players are in the finals of all the 5 events. There is a possibility that we might win up to 8 medals, as we are also in the running to win 2 bronze medals.

a) Badminton

1. Nelson Heg & Lee Meng Yean vs R. McCarthy & E. Westwood (England) for 3rd and 4th in Mixed Doubles
2. Yang Li Lian vs K. Gilmore (Scotland) in Girls Singles for 3rd and 4th

Final Events
3. Teo Ee Yi & Chow Mei Kuan vs S.N. Kidambi & M. Kukkapalli (India) in Mixed Doubles Finals
4. Sonia Cheah vs Pusaria V. Sindhu (India ) in Girls Singles Finals
5. Zulfadli Zulkiffli vs Sameer Verma (India) in Boys Singles Final
6. Chow Mei Kuan & Lee Meng Yean vs Sonia Cheah & Yang Li Lian in Girls Doubles
7. Nelson Heg & Teo Ee Yi & Ryan McCarthy & Tom Wolfenden (England) in Boys Doubles

b) Cycling
8. Ju Pha Som Net & Nurul Nadia Mohamad Fauzi – Girls' Criterium Individual
9. Muhd Arfy Qhairant Amran & Hamdan Hamidun – Boys' Criterium Individual

c) Swimming
10. Erika Kong – Girls' 200m breaststroke
11. Tern Jian Han – Boys' 100m backstroke & 200m butterfly
12. Hii Siew Siew – Girls' 100m butterfly
13. Chi Chia Khian – Boys' 200m butterfly
