Sejurus tiba, setiap atlet memasang basikal masing-masing bagi menyertai perlumbaan pertama keesokan harinya di pekan Latrobe kira-kira 20km dari tempat penginapan.
Kesemua atlet dan jurulatih berada di dalam keadaan sihat.
