Hari pertama sukan silambam bermula pada jam 8.30 pagi bertempat di Gimnasium 2 Majlis Sukan Negara. Hanya acara thanithiramai bagi kategori lelaki dan wanita sahaja dipertandingkan hari ini. Acara ini juga tidak menawarkan sebarang pingat. Melalui maklumat yang diterima daripada beebrapa individu, negeri Sabah merupakan pilihan utama bagi sukan ini.
Walaupun sukan ini lebih dikenali bagi kaum India, namun ia turut disertai oleh kaum Melayu pada SUKMA kali ini.
Its great to see and read something about Sylambam in the Pelapis programme. However, to be positive, Pelapis Training camps involving ALL Medal winners, irrespective of the states they belong to, must be invited to undergo further training to enhance the high performance in this sport for the states and the country, Malaysia.
ReplyDeleteAs a subjective sport and a openess in the marking, efforts must be taken to instill better independant judging to institute transparency to the points awarded as it happens in Karatedo, Taekwondo and Wushu. Silambam will develop to a btter platform if and all parties, states undertake the responsibility to train and develop good and well-knitted training methodology using the BEST-KNOWN masters in Silambam and NONETHELSS.
