21th NATIONAL RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 42nd National Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship kick-off today (24 November 2009) at the Gimnasium 1, National Sports Council, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. A total of 20 gimnas representing 7 states including 2 gimnas from the Elite Program participated in this year championship. Intially, there were suppose to have 2 categories in this championship i.e Senior and Junior category but unfortunately the senior category has to be cancelled due to lack of participation. Out of 5 participants registered earlier only 1 turn up during the tournament and the MGF decided to cancel the event.

There were no participation from the Pelapis Kebangsaan Program as 2 gimnas together with Dr. Svetlana are now in Uzbeskistan, 1 gimnas is in the BTN Kem and 2 gimnas are down with injury.

Firstly, I would like to rectify a mistake make in my earlier report that this the the 42nd edition but it's not. This is only the 21st edition of the championship.

As expected from my observation that Lee Wan Nin once the golden gimnas from the Pelapis Kebangsaan Program promoted to the Elite Program only in June 2009 dominates the just concluded 21st National Rhythmic Gymnastics. She grabbed all 4 individual titles at stake in the championships and also assisted her team Perak to win the Team event. She also grabbed the Individual All Round title.

Congratulation LEE WAN NIN ........ our future star in the making.....
